Authority Business Coaching: Denise Butchko

With Denise Butchko and Sonia Simone

This is our friendly monthly “hot seat”-style session, which is an exclusive offering for Authority members.

We focused this coaching session on one member’s business, and this month Sonia Simone met with Denise Butchko.

Denise has a big vision. She’s a closet designer and business consultant for the design/build niche and wants to develop ways to teach more people closet design while positioning herself for an eventual partnership with a major industry player.

In this session, we worked on uncovering additional digital possibilities for this very real-world business, as well as considering whether a B2B or B2C path will be more fruitful for her.

As always, we worked with Denise to help her clarify her goals, identify her assets and constraints, and move forward toward her goals.

How to Avoid Career-Limiting Maneuvers

Sonia Simone and Stefanie Flaxman

Every one of us has done it. We put the work, time, and effort into building a solid professional network -- then make a gaffe that makes us look bad and feel mortified.

But we’ve got your back, and in this session, we spill the beans about the professional behaviors that make us cringe. Because … you never want to make your colleagues cringe.

Sonia and Stefanie talk about:

  • The “unwritten rules” of guest posting
  • Good (and terrible) ways to approach influencers
  • How to make a great first impression
  • The mistakes we see over and over
  • A toxic mindset that can mess up your professional relationships
  • What influential web publishers are actually looking for

We want to help you present yourself as the amazing, smart, and talented person you are. Everyone makes mistakes, but you don’t have to make these mistakes.

Traffic School: How to Get Started with Online Ads

Sonia Simone and Loryn Thompson

Traffic School is in session! This week, we talked with Rainmaker Digital’s Data Analyst, Loryn Thompson, about how to get started with online ad buying. That means “buying traffic” on a platform like Facebook or Google.

Why buy traffic? Because it’s one of the most reliable ways to “turn up the volume” on traffic as you need it. You can protect your cash flow, generate more leads to cover quiet months, and develop more control over your business.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • How to decide which platforms to focus on
  • How content and ads work together for better results
  • The key underlying strategies you’ll use over and over again, no matter what ad platform you choose
  • How to test your ads so you don’t waste tons of money
