Authority Business Coaching: Abby Roaquin

Abby Roaquin with Sonia Simone

This is our friendly “hot seat”-style call, which is an exclusive offering for Authority members. Each coaching call focuses on one member’s business, and this month we chatted with Abby Roaquin.

Abby has done a great job growing a list from scratch in an ultra-competitive topic -- maintaining a ketogenic lifestyle for weight loss and health. She knows a lot about her audience, and it’s time for her to launch an “MVP” (minimum viable product). But she’s feeling overwhelmed by the options, and needs some help coming up with a focused plan for what to do next.

We help Abby pin down a plan, help her manage the overwhelm that comes from balancing her side business, family, and day job, and help her make significant steps toward her long-term goals.

Authority Business Coaching: Hashim Warren

Hashim Warren with Sonia Simone

This is our friendly “hot seat”-style call, which is an exclusive offering for Authority members.

Each coaching call focuses on one member’s business, and this month we chatted with long-time community member Hashim Warren. As Hashim posted in the forums, he’s facing a dramatic and unexpected change -- and we wanted to give him a hand.

Hashim has done a great job “digging the well before he’s thirsty,” and has been doing freelance work as a side hustle for years. He already has several clients booked. What he’s looking for is clarity, and just maybe, a breakthrough idea for the next chapter of his business life.

We talk about moving through the “analysis paralysis” of too many options, as well as exploring the kind of business Hashim wants to construct for himself. And we talk about how to set reasonable goals for Hashim’s first year as a solo entrepreneur.

Authority Business Coaching: Merle Benny

Merle Benny with Sonia Simone

This is our friendly monthly “hot seat”-style call, which is an exclusive offering for Authority members.

Each coaching call focuses on one member’s business, and this month we chatted with Merle Benny of Thinc.

Merle Benny has been in marketing for a long time -- 20 years now. In the past 10, she's focused on helping nonprofits with their marketing and fundraising, often working with clients who don't see themselves as marketers.

She's put significant time and work into creating a simplified program that can help those clients, but that project hasn't borne fruit yet. She'd also like better clarity on the right revenue model for her business, and to get away from spending quite so much time "trading dollars for hours" with her coaching practice.

In this session, we work with Merle to get more clarity on her offer, help her develop a focused plan without quite so many "shiny objects" to chase, and see what we can do to move her closer to her revenue goals.

Authority Business Coaching: Dax Hock

Sonia Simone and Dax Hock

This is our friendly monthly “hot seat” style call, which is an exclusive offering for Authority members.

Each coaching call focuses on one member’s business, and this month we chatted with Dax Hock of RhythmJuice.

Dax wants to teach the world to dance … specifically, to Swing, Charleston, and Lindy Hop. He and his partner traveled internationally more than 30 weeks a year before they started their dance education website. He’s got amazing content to share (and a sweet set-up to create more), but the marketing and sales side have been elusive.

In this session, we help Dax prioritize his next steps and figure out how to leverage the great email list he’s built, including some simple segmentation. And we help him decide on a conversion path that will take his fans through the journey to becoming committed premium members.

Authority Business Coaching: Derek Little

With Derek Little, Stefanie Flaxman, and Sonia Simone

This is our friendly monthly “hot seat” style call, which is an exclusive offering for Authority members.

We focus each coaching call on one member’s business, and this month we chatted with Derek Little.

Derek says he’s in 3 different businesses with some crossover: Content marketing consulting, B2B copywriting, and mastermind groups. Derek has taken many different classes so has a wide set of skills to work from. His biggest challenges right now are cash flow, multi-tasking, improving his skills, and seeing the truth of how things are really going (all he has is himself and he’s guessing)!

Derek wants to find ways to grow his copywriting business, by knowing his target market better. He wants to find ways to grow his masterminding business which he sees as a tough sell because people don’t get what a mastermind group is until they try it. Finally, he wants to learn how to be a better marketing consultant so he can improve his process for helping small businesses in need of a marketing strategy.

That’s what we talked about in this Authority Business Coaching call.

With Lori Sailiata, Stefanie Flaxman, and Sonia Simone

This is our friendly monthly “hot seat” style call, which is an exclusive offering for Authority members.

We focus each coaching call on one member’s business, and this month we chatted with Lori Sailiata.

Lori is a writer and creative who values self-determination. She has a wide range of interests and backgrounds, and she’s working on getting a couple of projects off the ground.

Her challenge now is to achieve “lift off” on her projects and find the right model to make the business work. She’s looking to clarify her business goals and understand the likely obstacles. And, like most new business owners, her priorities are cash flow and a stable client base.

That’s what we talked about in this Authority Business Coaching call.

Authority Business Coaching: Doug Stetzer

With Doug Stetzer, Tony Clark, and Sonia Simone

This is our friendly monthly “hot seat”-style session, which is an exclusive offering for Authority members.

We focus each coaching session on one member’s business, and this month Sonia Simone and Rainmaker COO Tony Clark met with Doug Stetzer.

Doug has a family business in a very traditional field, and he and his dad offer consulting as part of their revenue mix. Doug needs a plan for moving beyond the “founder trap,” and building a business that doesn’t need his dad’s daily input.

In this session, we worked on uncovering digital possibilities for Doug’s business and also took a look at how he can improve conversion from free content to paid.

As always, we worked with Doug to help him identify his assets and constraints and to move forward toward his goals.

NOTE: Please excuse the audio issues on the call, they resolve after the 06:30 mark. Thanks!
